Welcome to the Music Knockout webzine.

The Music Knockout webzine is all about the music from the years 1965 until 1975. We have chosen this period because we think that this period was a very important musical period.

All musical styles started to mix with each other. The smooth pop from the early 60's suddenly transformed into the rawer rock sounds, soul became funky, jazz mixed with rock, styles like garage rock, psychedelic rock and progressive rock were born.

One great big musical melting pot!!!!

What do you get in this webzine?

We have made some sections:

The most important one is the large Music Knockout Enyclopedia. In here you will find all releases from the years 1965 until 1975 made by the artists, who are listed alphabetically. Added is information such as labels, order numbers, year of release, a short bio, album tracks and album sleeves, performing artists, links and some videos. Almost every musical style will be included in the Encyclopedia!!!!

The Encyclopedia will grow with the week, so keep an eye on it!!!

There will also be reviews of re-issues of 60's/70's albums and reviews of neo-psychedelica albums. With neo-psychedelica albums we mean albums with music inspired by the period 1965-1975 (for instance acid folk, stoner rock, jazz dance) or albums by artists who were already active in the years 1965-1975 and who still release albums.

In the section Dutch Nuggets you can find reviews about Dutch rock/pop releases from the 60's until the 80's. Most of those releases can be obtained at www.fonos.nl, where you can get Dutch releases which haven't been re-issued on CD yet. Fonos puts them on a CD and provides the original LP sleeves as well.

Another section is the 8o's section. Just to prove that certainly was some good music around in the 80's. You will find reviews of some 80's releases in here.

The other sections include reviews on DVD's and movies, books and some concerts.

HAVE FUN!!!!!
